Mastermind Translations wins Small Business Sunday with Theo Paphitis

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that this week I’ve become an official winner of the Small Business Sunday competition. Small Business Sunday, shortened to the hashtag #SBS on Twitter, is a weekly initiative run by UK top retail entrepreneur and former BBC2 Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis to recognise the work and achievements of UK small businesses. Following Theo’s motto: ‘make your own luck by making use of every opportunity’, I entered Small Business Sunday to highlight the role of translators and gain more exposure for my translation business.

Last Sunday, I tweeted Theo about Mastermind Translations, describing the language support I offer to companies and organisations with their translation and communication needs. Theo selected my business as one of the six official winners and re-tweeted my message to his nearly half a million followers. Since then, I’ve experienced an enormous increase in a number of enquiries about my translation and communication services. I’ve also been invited to showcase my business on Theo’s website which is dedicated to all official Small Business Sunday winners.

Joining the Small Business Sunday winner family has given a massive boost to my business, especially after I took a six-months’ break last year to complete a translation placement at the European Parliament. I’m especially pleased to be the first translation professional to win Small Business Sunday. It’s great to have support from Theo in raising the profile of the translation profession in the UK.
